Visa policy for Egypt
Visitors to Egypt must obtain a visa from one of the Egyptian diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or countries that are eligible for visa on arrival. Visitors must hold passports that are valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival to Egypt.
Visa Application
• Foreigners are granted a visa to the Arab Republic of Egypt at Egyptian consulates abroad.
• It is single-entry visa, unless it states that it is a multiple-entry visa within at most six months of date of issue.
Prerequisites
• Complete filled-in the visa form.
• Paying the scheduled fees.
• Citizens of some countries must have previous permits before being granted the required visa.
• Permission procedures take 15 days. Once the permission issued, the visa procedures begin, thus the visa
applicant must contact the consulate to know the latest updates.
Required Documents
To issue a visa for all the nationalities, the following documents are required:
• A passport valid for at least six month
• Two personal photos with a white background
• Complete filled in visa application
• A photocopy of the residence card in the foreign country
Instructions
The secure electronic visa was applied at some diplomatic and consular missions abroad and at the different entry ports since 1/8/2007, and the program is currently being generalized in all the Egyptian missions abroad.
Fees for Urgent Entry Visas:
Single-entry visa: 25 US Dollars
Multiple-entry visa: 35 US Dollars
Citizens of the following 7 countries and territories may visit Egypt without a visa for 3 months
* Bahrain * Hong Kong
* Oman * Saudi Arabia
The visa-free regime also applies to the citizens of the following countries under certain conditions
Visa on arrival
According to the Egyptian Consulate General in the United Kingdom, citizens of the following countries can obtain visa upon arrival at any of the Egyptian ports of entry:
* All European Union citizens1 * Australia
Authorized visa required
According to the Egyptian Consulate General in the United Kingdom visitors holding passports of the following countries must apply for a visa in person and a visa approval must be sought for them from the competent Authorities in Egypt and takes several weeks to process
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Burundi, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Is rael, Kosovo, Lebanon, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Tunisia, Pakistan, Pale stine, Philippines, Rwanda, Sierra- Leone, Somalia. Citizens of the Republic of Lebanon who are legal residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council are exempt from this requirement
State Security approval
Citizens of the following countries need a prior approval from the Egyptian State Security Authorities in addition to holding a visa:
* Kazakhstan * Kosovo
* Lebanon * Mauritania
